Regulated Online Poker Louisiana. The regulation of online poker has been up for discussion in the Pelican State. One of the reasons is the concern that inhabitants are not sufficiently protected against unregulated sites that still accept US players. The Louisiana Gaming Control Board have noted that players within the state are still gambling online, although it is prohibited by law since 1997 (ยง90.3."Gambling by computer"). They also want to prevent minors from gambling online. But as every other state, the financial argument is the crucial factor. In the end we will see Louisiana regulate online poker, but probably not before a few more states have chosen to do it.
