The month of June was a disaster for the Delaware online poker operation. The Blue Hen State saw their iPoker revenue plummet from $57,470 in May to $25,607 in June – a 55.4% decrease. As some know, there’s always a seasonable decline in online poker. But the drop seen in Delaware from May to June was just insane.
Luckily, things are on the up again as revenue increased from June’s record-low of $25,607 to July’s total of $31,398. This 22.6% increase indicates that the worst may be behind Delaware’s online poker operation. However, it’s still a far cry from the state’s record iPoker haul of $106,992 in December.
Individual casino breakdown
Delaware Park continues to dominate the state’s online poker market since they pulled in 60% of July’s $31,398 total. They were the primary catalyst in the market’s July increase since their iPoker revenue rose by 29%. Dover Downs grabbed a 31% share of Delaware’s July online poker revenue while Harrington had a 9% take.
Online gaming as a whole is down
While there’s positive news to report about poker, Delaware’s entire iGaming operation took a tumble. July saw the state’s three racinos earn $173,096 through online gaming, which is down 7.6% from June’s total of $187,332.
The primary problem here was a sharp decrease in the overall amount of money wagered. Players wagered $8,844,489 in June, but only $5,510,993 in July. Given this 38% drop in betting activity, it seems that July’s iGaming revenue totals could have been even worse.
