The 2014 World Series of Poker didn’t do much for Ultimate Gaming and their online poker room, Ultimate Poker. After watching their main Nevada competitor, WSOP.com, receive over a 50% traffic boost from the 2014 WSOP, Ultimate Poker saw their traffic increase by a meager 10%.
A large part of this was because Caesars Entertainment could cross-promote WSOP.com to the tens of thousands of players who competed at the Rio this summer. However, the fact remains that Ultimate Poker can’t be too happy about only averaging 55 cash game players an hour, compared to WSOP.com’s 150 players an hour.
But perhaps they’re on the right path towards increasing their stagnated traffic because UP just announced a marketing partnership with El Cortez. You can see the details of this arrangement below along with some of the other partnerships that UP is forming.
El Cortez is marketing Ultimate Poker and taking deposits
Thanks to their new deal, Ultimate Poker is being touted as the official online poker site of El Cortez. The downtown Vegas-based El Cortez has been heavily advertising UP to their customers. They’ve also set up a cage where visitors can make a deposit directly into their UP account.
Alexandra Epstein, executive vice president of El Cortez, strongly believes that this partnership works really well for both sides. “We’re excited to join in this new venture and bring even more gaming options to guests of the property,” Epstein said. “By combining the online accessibility of Ultimate Poker with the classic Vegas feel of the El Cortez we’re giving new and existing players a different way to experience the game of poker.”
Other Ultimate Poker partnerships
Already the official online gaming partner of Station Casinos, Ultimate Poker is heavily marketed in all of the Station-owned properties throughout Nevada. Additionally, Ultimate Poker has formed partnerships with the Reno-based Peppermill Resorts and four Vegas-based casinos. In all, UP is being advertised at 20 casinos throughout Nevada.
What Ultimate Gaming is doing with their poker site may not be on the same scale as what Caesars was able to do during the 2014 WSOP. But at least Ultimate Gaming is taking some positive steps towards cross-promoting their online brand with land-based casinos.
Great article!
